
Five new Kalmar Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes arrived at the DP World Terminal in Sydney last week, on Friday 6 May 2022, aboard the project cargo ship “Chipol Taihu”.
The five cranes were fully assembled and pre-tested upon arrival to reduce the time before they can enter into service and will complement DP World’s existing fleet of 11 Kalmar RTGs already in service.
With a total investment of approximately AUD $15 million AUD, the RTGs are part of DP World’s ongoing renewal programme. The five new machines are configured to provide greater fuel economy and lower emissions, with 40% more fuel efficiency, They have a lifting capacity of 41 tonnes,
A further five additional RTGs are scheduled for delivery in 2023.
