It was a tense finish at the annual Phil Kelly Perpetual Golf Challenge held by Shipping Australia in Victoria.
At completion of play, two teams had a tied score: PATRICKS and NYK.
A countback was forced delivering the trophy to Patricks by one stroke!
Shipping Australia congratulates the winning team comprised of Adam O’Keefe, Jordan Hurunui, Sam Reid and the hard-hitting Sam Welsh.
Blessed with sunshine, a light breeze, and a max temperature of 26 degrees, the beautiful Waterford Valley course was in tip/top shape for the eighteen teams that lined up at the start on Wednesday 17 March. Ben Welsh and Jordan Hurunui both took out the longest drives on the 8th and 11th whilst Steve Ponton of LINX scored closest to the pin on the 5th. The Challenge was played using the Ambrose rules.
Shipping Australia’s thanks go to major sponsors Port Phillip Sea Pilots and Svitzer. We would also like to thank the Port of Melbourne for the major prizes, Wallenius Wilhelmsen for golf balls and finally NPDL (formerly Neptune Pacific) for a supply of Fiji Water.
