Victoria’s new ports and maritime regulator, Ports Victoria, has announced that it has appointed Nicholas Ellul as its new General Manager Maritime.
Mr Ellul continues as Harbour Master for the port of Geelong and has oversight of the harbour master activities at the port of Hastings.
“Nick’s new position is essential to Ports Victoria ensuring safe, efficient and fair access to Victoria’s commercial ports and its creation of a Victorian centre of maritime excellence in Geelong,” Ports Victoria said in a statement.
Mr Ellul was the marine manager / harbour master at Geelong under the old Victorian Regional Channels Authority and, prior to that, he was an assistant harbour master at GeelongPort. For approximately 13 years he was a seafarer, navigator and principal warfare officer with the Royal Australian Navy.
