Seafarers are being encouraged to take part into academic research to investigate the state of seafarer’s mental health.
Research is being carried out by the Batumi Navigation Teaching University of Georgia, along with the involvement of the Dalian Maritime University (China) and the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). The study is financed by the International Association of Maritime Universities and is being conducted under the research project into the applied psychology of seafarers.
The study takes the form of a questionnaire and is designed to help inform the researchers about the mental health of seafarers during their work onboard.
