NPDL has provided an update on the deployment of its new, purpose-built landing craft, the Norfolk.
According to the company, the purchase and refitting of the Norfolk signifies NPDL’s long term commitment to providing reliable, efficient and sustainable shipping and supply chain services to the Norfolk Island community.
The commissioning of the vessel is proceeding to plan with delivery from shipyard expected in early-April. It will proceed to Singapore for bunkering in April prior to her arrival in Brisbane late-April/early-May. The company will be accepting cargo opportunities from Singapore to Brisbane and Norfolk Island on her maiden voyage.
In the interim, the Sea Force barge will continue to serve the island, with three confirmed voyages remaining.
