Political insight

We were pleased and honoured that the Hon. Tony Pasin MP (Liberal), Assistant Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Transport and the Member for Barker (South Australia), addressed our meeting.

Mr Barker provided us with an overview of his life growing up on the family farm, his education in economics and law, and his career as a practising lawyer.

We discussed issues affecting the industry today. These included policy reform, biosecurity, investment, industry accountability and how productivity can be boosted to the benefit of the nation.

Shipping Australia thanks Mr Pasin and his team for joining us and addressing our meeting.

Port industry representation

Craig Faulkner, Executive General Manager of the Port of Melbourne, also addressing the meeting.

We discussed a range of local matters including ship safety, towage, usage of berths, on-dock rail, construction and investment projects at the Port of Melbourne.
