Olga Coelho Heubert, chief commercial officer at the Victoria International Container Terminal, set out the stevedore’s views on infrastructure investment at our recent SAL Victoria State Committee Luncheon.
Declaring that the stevedore and its parent company remain committed to investing in infrastructure and equipment that would optimise service, Ms Coelho Heubert added that the current infrastructure project will include three more storage blocks and also two new quay cranes that will be the largest in Australia.
This infrastructure expansion “will add 30% more capacity and will large vessels (neo-panamax) to call Victoria to take advantage of economies of scale,” she told guests.
She added that the company has additional investment planned for 2026 and 2027, and that the company is continuously exploring opportunities to be more efficient, “including bringing rail head facilities into Webb Dock”.
