The “Liner Shipping Game” comes to Australia!

By Shipping Australia

MPC International and LinerGame have partnered to introduce an innovative simulation-based training solution to Oceania. The Liner Shipping Game is designed to enhance strategic thinking and provide a deeper understanding of the complex operations within shipping lines.

Offered in workshop format,  workshops cover essential topics such as operational logistics, digitalisation, and decarbonisation and also offer customisable modules tailored to address each organisation’s specific challenges.

By stepping into roles within a shipping line, par5cipants will develop their skills in profitability enhancement and sustainable opera5ons through strategic collabora5on and decision-making.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Lars Jensen and Niels Rytter, the visionaries behind LinerGame.net,” said Peter Creeden, Managing Director at MPC International. He added, “this partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to elevate educa5onal standards in the shipping industry through innovative tools and approaches. The Liner Shipping Game offers an unparalleled opportunity to enhance the strategic capabili5es of professionals in the maritime sector.”

The game allows 12-16 people the opportunity to simulate and experience how a container shipping line runs its business using vessels and containers made out of Lego bricks, combined with a paper-based flow of documents. During the game, the team will take responsibility for core commercial and operational tasks of a container shipping line, including vital terminal tasks. Through teamwork, they can maximize carrier and terminal  performance, deliver cargo on time to clients and minimize their carbon footprint.

The inaugural workshop sessions will kick off in September 2024, coinciding with the visit of Niels Rytter.
