A new third prize has been announced this year! Five textbooks with a commercial value of GBP550 (currently about AUD$1,092) have been generously donated by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
The main aim of the Award is to develop professionalism among young people in ship agency and shipbroking and to encourage them to be actively engaged in the industry.
Eligibility and entry
Competitors must write a paper that presents a comprehensive analysis of the role of the ship agent or the shipbroker in a specific field of market sector. This could be, for instance in dry bulk, tanker, passenger, or some other sector, or it could be some other broader international maritime topic such as ship management, or the profession of the ship agent / broker.
The paper should be written in a way that can be understood by industry professionals and also by general (non-maritime) readers.
Competitors should must be UNDER the age of 41 at the time of their submission of the paper and must first provide a brief summary (of between 350 to 500 words) outlining the scope and contents of their proposed paper to a Review Committee prior to starting work.
