Water you waiting for? Just dive in!
That’s what will be happening at the 35th Annual Rottnest Channel Swim, WA, which will be making a splash of things this Saturday 22 February 2025 from 05:45 am to 17:00.
Fremantle Ports has kept everyone in the swim of things by issuing a Navigation Warning.
Use of the Port, including the deep-water channel, will be restricted from 06:00am until 12:00pm.
Commercial shipping will resume following clearance by the event organisers.
The South32 Rottnest Channel Swim is a 19.7km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach (Mudurup) to Rottnest Island (Wadjemup).
If you want to go along do a bit of spectating to sea what’s going on, the first wave of swimmers leaves from Cottesloe Beach at 5.45am and the last wave of swimmers leaves at 07:40am.
The first pod of swimmers will dolphinately arrive at Rottnest Island at about 10:00am, so you whale want to be there for at least 09:30 am.
If everything goes swimmingly, then the organisers say that there will “be plenty of entertainment and activities for the whole family before, during and after the swimmers arrive on the Island”.
