Shipping Australia Queensland supports the Mission to Seafarers with a $6,600 donation!

Shipping Australia Limited (SAL) Queensland has proudly presented a cheque for $6,600 to Mission to Seafarers Brisbane, following the successful Events from the 2025 SAL Golf Day and SAL Gala.

The cheque was presented by Ajaz Mir-Chairman QLD on behalf of Shipping Australia, with Catherine Hindley, President, and Ross Nicholls, Secretary, receiving the donation on behalf of Mission to Seafarers Brisbane.

This contribution reflects the strong commitment of the maritime and shipping community in Queensland to supporting the welfare of seafarers, whose dedication keeps global trade moving and supply chains connected.

Speaking on the presentation, Ajaz Mir said the donation was a meaningful way to give back to those who play such an important role in the industry.

“Seafarers are the backbone of international trade, and it is important that we recognize their contribution and support the incredible work done by Mission to Seafarers. We are proud that the proceeds from our SAL Golf Day and SAL Gala can help make a difference.”

Mission to Seafarers Brisbane continues to provide vital support, care and services to seafarers visiting the Port of Brisbane, offering practical assistance, welfare support and a welcoming place away from home.

The donation highlights the spirit of collaboration and generosity within the Queensland shipping community, with the SAL events not only bringing industry stakeholders together but also creating an opportunity to support a very worthy cause.

Shipping Australia Queensland extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, sponsored and supported the Golf Day and SAL Gala, helping make this donation possible.
