The CMA CGM Foundation has announced that it is renewing its commitment to improving access to education in Côte d’Ivoire by renewing three key initiatives to enhance access to quality education.

Anyama

Already engaged since 2023 alongside the Magic System Foundation, the CMA CGM Foundation is reaching a new milestone with the construction of a fourth primary school in Anyama, near Abidjan. Following the successful openings in Ellokro, Bouaké, and San Pedro, this new project will benefit 300 students, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 1,200 children. Designed as a true community hub, the school will include six classrooms, a canteen, a library, sanitation facilities, and an administrative block built from containers, as well as a multi-sports field.

Abidjan

The CMA CGM Foundation is renewing its support for the “Excellence-Equity” scholarship program led by the Regional Academy of Marine Science and Technology (ARSTM) in Abidjan. Building on its initial commitment in 2024, which funded four scholarships over three years, the Foundation is expanding its support in 2026 by financing the education of 10 additional students over three years at the Higher School of Navigation and the Higher School of Maritime Transport. This program aims to support high-achieving students from modest backgrounds in pursuing careers in the maritime sector through access to top-tier education.

Bouaké

The CMA CGM Foundation is launching a new flagship project with the ATEF OMAÏS Foundation (FATOM) to fully rehabilitate the Akanzakro school near Bouaké, originally built in 1972 and never renovated since. The project includes the refurbishment of six classrooms, the construction of sanitation facilities, securing the site with a perimeter fence, and the installation of a library housed in a container. Fully funded by the CMA CGM Foundation and implemented by FATOM, this project will benefit nearly 500 students and 12 teachers, significantly improving their learning conditions.

Too many standards, too much red tape, not enough lifetime to deal with it
