By Shipping Australia

Simone Peacock has been appointed as the new CEO of the International Forwarders and Customs Brokers Association of Australia, starting 1 September.

“Following a period of strategic reset, IFCBAA now has the foundations in place for its next chapter. After an extensive recruitment process, the Board has given its firm and unanimous support to Simone’s appointment and is confident that Simone is the right person to lead IFCBAA through this next stage of development, while ensuring the Association remains strong, relevant and well positioned for the decades ahead,” said Adam Butler, Chair of the IFCBAA Board, in a written statement.

Background

Ms Butler’s immediately preceding roles was as a sales director, most recently for the APAC region and prior to that for the Oceania region for PayCargo, a digital freight payment software company specialising in A.I-assisted invoice automation.

She was previously a sales director for Skill Tilling, and prior to that the Enterprise Regional Senior Manager – Asia Pacific for FedEx Logistics. She also spent about eight years in various sales and business development roles for BDP International.

She is also currently the volunteer Club Treasurer and Vice President of Barnestoneworth United F.C., a non-profit amateur football club based in Williamstown.

Ms Peacock holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Victoria University.

Welcome

Outgoing IFCBAA CEO, Scott Carson, welcomed his successor and thanked the Board, staff and members of IFCBAA.

“I am looking forward to working with Simone Peacock (BBus) in handing over the leadership baton for the International Forwarders & Customs Brokers Association of Australia Ltd. (IFCBAA). Simone is a great choice to steer this focused organisation into it’s next phase of development and growth, for the benefit of our members,” Mr Carson wrote in a statement, adding that it has been an “honour” to work with the IFCBAA.

Mr Butler also paid tribute to the outgoing CEO. “I would also like to acknowledge our outgoing Chief Executive Officer, Scott, for his strong, loyal and dedicated leadership, and for the hard work he has undertaken over the past several years in helping shape IFCBAA into the organisation it is today. The Board expresses its sincere gratitude for his contribution and service,” Mr Butler said.
