Len Phillips is the general manager at Hyundai Merchant Marine (Australia), which is one of Shipping Australia’s newer members.

Shipping Australia chats with Len about… well, just about everything! Len started off his career being fascinated, no, not with ships, but with dinosaurs and cavemen.

He explains that he was always interested in pre-history, which he studied along with anthropology before moving into the world of logistics via the trucking industry.

From there it was a short drive to ocean shipping.

““I didn’t know very much about shipping at all. I was a little bit stunned,” Len confesses. He clearly picked it up, given that he’s now running HMM (Australia).

Find out more about Len’s extraordinary career here.
