To mark the 2026 IMO International Day for Women in Maritime, Shipping Australia Limited (SAL) and the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA Australia) are delighted to invite you to our annual panel lunch on Wednesday 20 May in Melbourne.

This year marks the third consecutive year WISTA Australia and SAL have co-hosted this event in celebration of the IMO’s International Day for Women (observed on 18 May).
The IMO’s 2026 theme, “From Strategy to Impact: Empowering Women in the Maritime World,” sets the tone for meaningful and forward looking discussion—challenging our industry to move beyond aspiration and deliver tangible, lasting change. This theme will be brought to life through the insights and leadership of our distinguished 2026 panel:

· Dr Michelle Grech – Manager of Seafarer Certification Services, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA)
· Fleur Walsh – Head of Operations (Australia & New Zealand), A.P. Moller-Maersk
· Ekaterina Khramova – General Manager Timor Leste, ANL & CMA CGM and 2025 DCN joint winner – Women in Shipping & Maritime Logistics Award

Event Details:

Date: Wednesday, 20 May 2025
Time: 12:00pm to 2:00pm (Panel discussion: 12:30pm – 1:30pm, followed by networking)
Venue: RACV Melbourne City Club
Lunch: A two-course meal with premium beverages included
Tickets: SAL Members – $130

Also, we would like to thank our generous sponsors – HFW Law Firm (Platinum Sponsor), the MCC Group (Gold Sponsor) and CoastalBridge Agencies (Silver Sponsor) – whose support has made this event possible and helps us champion women in the maritime sector.

Last year’s event drew over 100 maritime, shipping and logistics professionals and generated vibrant discussion across the sectors. We anticipate another memorable occasion and encourage you to secure your ticket early, as places are strictly limited.

Your participation not only supports the advancement of women in maritime but also contributes to a more inclusive, dynamic and forward thinking industry.
