Shipping Australia was pleased to play to host to a visit from Captain John Lloyd, CEO of the Nautical Institute.
The Institute is UK-based global non-governmental organisation for maritime professionals; it has over 7,000 members in more than 110 countries. The Institute has consultative status at the IMO. Its aims are to improve standards of those involved in control of seagoing craft; the represent the views of the Institute’s members to international, national and local bodies; and to promote and co-ordinate in the public interest the development of nautical studies in all the Institute’s branches.
During the discussions, the Capt Lloyd and Captain Melwyn Noronha (CEO of Shipping Australia) engaged in a wide ranging discussion including maritime safety, maritime education and training, and maritime policy.
