Lindsay Reed has taken over the commercial ownership and management of industry publication, the DCN in a planned succession.

Ms Reed stepped into her new role on 1 August 2023, succeeding former CEO Ian Brooks and publisher Lloyd O’Harte.

Ms Reed has worked with DCN since 2018. Her most recent position was as commercial director.

She thanked Mr O’Harte and Mr Brooks for their support, mentorship and trust in taking the business forward.

“Since I joined the Daily Cargo News team in early 2018, we have passed many milestones: re-launching from a newspaper to a magazine, growing the industry awards night to record numbers and launching the new DCN Weekly podcast to name a few,” she said.

“To all of DCN’s readers and partners, thank you for your ongoing support, we are very fortunate to be part of such a close knit and dynamic industry.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know many of you, and I am excited for all the things to come.”

Mr O’Harte said he and Mr Brooks were delighted to now pass the baton to Ms Reed.

“We welcome her as the new publisher, with absolute confidence she will take the now expanded offerings of newswire, magazine, podcast and the annual DCN Shipping & Maritime Industry awards events to the next level,” Mr O’Harte said.

“We wish Lindsay the very best in her new role, and we farewell all our wonderful readers, sponsors and partners with gratitude.”
