Shipping Australia meets Lars Kastrup – Co-President & Executive Director of Pacific International Line

Lars Kastrup, Co-President & Executive Director of Pacific International Line visited the Sydney office of PIL earlier this week, where he met the senior leadership, the PIL team and Shipping Australia CEO, Melwyn Noronha.

Together, the PIL leadership and Capt Noronha discussed a range of maritime issues, including:

Ship sizes, port infrastructure upgrades and worldwide port congestion
Impacts of COVID and current Ukraine / Russia war on seafarers
Seafarers’ welfare
Shipboard training opportunities for cadets on PIL ships – potential for young Australians
Coastal shipping and the potential Australian national fleet
