Wallenius Wilhelmsen announces extension of two contracts together valued at USD$500m

Roll-on Roll-off specialist Wallenius Wilhelmsen has announced two significant contract extensions that, together, are valued at close to USD$500 million.

“The renewed contracts are a testament to the strength of long and strong standing partnerships with shared commitment towards zero emissions and developing integrated supply chains,” says Pia Synnerman, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

One contract has an extension value of USD$384 million from a leading European auto manufacturer and will run for another three years. The contract will include additional volumes and trade lanes. The contract includes a multi-fuel BAF mechanism to reduce emissions.

The second contract is with a European heavy equipment manufacturer and will has been extended for two years. The extension has an estimated value of USD$114 million based on expected volumes and also has a multi-fuel BAF mechanism.

“Both customers want to build on the existing foundation of their strategic collaboration with Wallenius Wilhelmsen to continue efforts for further integrating and optimizing their supply chains. We look forward to delivering integrated logistics to both customers going forward,” says Synnerman.
