Logistics operator Medlog has signed a 30 year deal for a 7.3 hectare (73,000 square metre) space on Fisherman Island with the Port of Brisbane.
According to the Port, the new facility will become “one of the world’s most automated container parks”, which will handle empty and full boxes.
The Port will develop the site to Medlog’s requirements and the new facility is due to come online by the third quarter of this year. The site will include sustainable design elements including solar installations and low-carbon concrete.
Port of Brisbane’s CEO, Neil Stephens, commented, “Port of Brisbane is on a journey to become Australia’s premier port and logistics hub; welcoming industry leaders such as MEDLOG plays a key role in ensuring the Port of Brisbane achieves this vision.”
