OneStop & Intermodal Group (IMG) Strengthen Partnership with the Launch of Kenwick Intermodal Terminal

By Industry Contributor

By: OneStop.

OneStop, a provider of a platform for supply chain optimisation, has announced the expansion of its ongoing partnership with Intermodal Group (IMG) to include their newest facility, the Kenwick Intermodal Terminal (IMT) in Western Australia. This collaboration will introduce OneStop’s solutions, OneStop Modal and Vehicle Booking System (VBS) at the new intermodal facility, enhancing operational efficiency, container movements, and traffic flow management.

OneStop Modal and VBS will play a role in streamlining operations at Kenwick IMT. The IMG initiative will boost the region’s capacity by providing an additional 2000 TEU for empty container storage. This expansion will deliver benefits to the industry, including:

• Cost Reduction for Transport Operators: By enabling the return of empty containers to the same area they were picked up from, transport operators can achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies.
• Streamlining Container Movements: Kenwick IMT will serve as an inland port with rail services transporting containers to Fremantle port.

Rail operations between Kenwick IMT and North Quay Rail Terminal commenced this week. A dedicated rail service with a 100 TEU capacity per service, operated by Watco Australia, will streamline container movements across the region, enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.

Chris Harnett, Chief Commercial Officer at OneStop, says, “The extension of our partnership with IMG and the deployment of our VBS at the Kenwick Intermodal Terminal represents a significant milestone for OneStop. Our OneStop Modal solution will not only streamline operations but also provide crucial visibility into intermodal container movements, ensuring enhanced efficiency and service reliability. We are proud to support IMG’s growth and to bring about operational excellence that will benefit the entire industry.”

Adam Lebihan, VP Intermodal at Intermodal Group (IMG), says, “The launch of the Kenwick Intermodal Terminal is a significant step forward in our mission to enhance Western Australia’s logistics infrastructure. Partnering with OneStop to implement their advanced OneStop Modal and VBS solutions, underscores our commitment to adopting innovative technologies that improve operational efficiency and service delivery. This collaboration will not only boost our capacity but also provide substantial benefits to our customers, enabling smoother, more cost-effective container movements across the region.”

Transport operators can expect to receive further information on the OneStop VBS implementation for the pick-up and drop-off procedures at Kenwick IMT, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
